Arlan Wise, OPA certified, OPA Peer Group leader, ISAR C.A.P, has been  a professional consulting astrologer since 1978. She studied with Liz Greene, Michael Lutin, Dennis Elwell, Monica Dimino, and learned much from listening to her clients.

Arlan was on the Board of Directors of OPA from 1994-2024, serving three terms as president. She helped create OPA’s Astrologers Retreats, a unique conference experience, and OPA’s Certification Process.

Besides seeing clients for consultations, Arlan lectures at conferences and teaches writing workshops for astrologers. She edits and reviews astrology books.

Arlan has been a member of the Boston chapter of NCGR thirty years. In the 1990’s she was in an astrology peer group led by Michael Lutin at the house of Monica Dimino. Members of the group included the officers of Boston NCGR – Frances McEvoy (the founder of the Boston chapter of NCGR), Lorraine Welsh, and Monica and other Boston area astrologers. We met at Monica’s house one Saturday afternoon a month. After sharing lunch and catch up gossip, Michael taught us how to blend astrology with depth psychology. He also taught us to be aware of group dynamics. After two years Michael left us on our own and the meetings continued. It was the forerunner of OPA’s Peer Group certification process.

We learned the importance of having an ongoing group of colleagues where we could share our experiences and problems with clients in a safe place. It is a place to do research and explore astrological techniques.  I urge all astrologers to set up a group of peers for this purpose. You will reap great benefits.

Arlan is presenting April 27th on ‘The ABC’s of Astrological Writing’ for OPA’s AstroBiz Summit 2025.
